The Amahoro Coalition Fellowship is calling for bold leaders like you – visionaries with a personal mission and the drive to rewrite the narrative around displacement.
This 12-month fellowship is one of Africa’s most impactful platforms for emerging leaders who have experienced displacement firsthand. It’s a movement to champion economic inclusion, social transformation, and entrepreneurial success.
About Amahoro Coalition Fellowship
The Amahoro Coalition Fellowship is designed specifically for young leaders who have experienced forced displacement and are now using their voices, platforms, and projects to drive meaningful change.
Whether you’re building a business, launching a social initiative, or advocating for community development, this fellowship will give you the tools, training, and exposure to elevate your work to new heights.
From August this year to September next year, fellows will engage in interactive virtual sessions, skill-building workshops, peer collaboration, and receive hands-on support from global mentors and industry leaders.
What do Fellows receive?
As an Amahoro Coalition Fellow, you will receive:
- Access to world-class mentors and professional coaches
- Up to $155,000 in funding opportunities (for select fellows)
- Business development and technical support to scale your initiative
- Leadership and thought leadership training to help you become a voice of influence
- Global exposure and networking with like-minded leaders across Africa
- Participation in collaborative workshops, creative labs, and problem-solving sprints
- Personal growth support, including wellness check-ins and resilience coaching
Eligibility requirements
The fellowship is open to individuals who meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Age range: 18 to 35 years old
- Experience: Must have lived experience as a forcibly displaced person (FDP)
- Leadership: Must lead or co-lead a business or social impact initiative, or use a personal platform for advocacy and storytelling
- Commitment: Must be passionate about refugee economic inclusion and demonstrate clear efforts toward entrepreneurship, innovation, advocacy, or community development
- Track Record: At least 1–2 years of progress in your field, whether through business registration, media coverage, impact reports, awards, partnerships, or testimonials
- Skills & Availability: You must be comfortable in English, able to commit 10–15 hours per week for the duration of the program, and have basic digital literacy (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, etc.)
What you’ll need to apply
To apply for the Amahoro Coalition Fellowship, you must prepare and submit:
- A CV tailored to the fellowship, highlighting leadership and impact experience
- Proof of your enterprise or social impact initiative – this could include registration documents, project portfolios, or media features
Timeline and deadline
To make this program accessible across Africa, the fellowship is delivered virtually and will run from August this year to September next year.
